The Culture Map
 
In this last DABS Business Lecture before the summer break Asger Daugbjerg will do a presentation on the extend and the impact that cultural differences have in a business environment, often without business managers being fully aware of these differences.
 
We tend to navigate in negotiations and leadership decisions according to our own cultural compass. But so do others. When our compasses are different, misunderstandings can happen, and we might lose the business deal. And the further apart different cultures are from each other the bigger the risk.
 
This presentation will take its starting point in Professor at INSEAD Business School Erin Meyer’s 2014 book ‘The Cultural Map’ which maps the importance of knowing cultural differences on eight different dimensions: Communicating, Evaluating, Leading, Deciding, Trusting, Disagreeing, Scheduling. In the business lecture we will briefly discuss all eight dimensions. .
